HEALTH WORKERS RESPOND TO REAL-TIME EMERGENCY TRAINING
More than 1,000,000 viewers tuned in to the seven Public Health Training Network (PHTN) bioterrorism and emergency preparedness broadcasts since 10/18. As of 12/10, over 600,000 health care and public health professionals have participated by satellite; 340,000 by video tape; 116,000 by Internet; and 3,000 by telephone. Thanks to all of you who made time to learn the latest information, as well as the PHTN sponsors and association partners who produced and promoted these events.*****************************************************************************************
CDC ASKS FOR YOUR FEEDBACK ON THE "CDC RESPONDS" BROADCAST SERIES
In exchange for these free trainings, the CDC asks that viewers submit a short online review. Your feedback will help to improve these programs and can be seen by other interested professionals. NEXT BROADCAST: "CDC Responds: Influenza--Prevention, Detection and Control"
Live Broadcast: Thursday, December 20, 2001 - 1:00-2:30 pm ET
This live satellite and web broadcast will present an update on the clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of influenza. Included will be an overview of the impact of influenza in the community and in healthcare settings, the use of influenza vaccination, and the use of influenza antiviral medications. An update on the availability of influenza vaccine for the 2001 season will also be provided. A question and answer session will enable participants nationwide to pose questions to panelists in advance for response during the program.
A toll-free audio line will be available for those unable to arrange a viewing location.

FREE VIDEO COPIES AVAILABLE
The CDC will provide a single VHS videotape of the 12/20/01 program free of charge to anyone who is unable to view the live broadcast. Videotapes will be available after January 14, 2002.
